The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo spent decades celebrating Agriculture, Education, Entertainment & Western Heritage. While leaving a legacy in each of these areas, HLSR has left an impact on the lives of individual volunteers, scholarship recipients, and attendees that span generations. Join the Rotary Club of Houston as we honor the legacy through the volunteers and staff that have impacted our community since 1931.
Honoring dedicated service to the community for almost 80 years,
the Rotary Club of Houston will present HLSR with the prestigious Rotary Distinguished Citizen Award at a celebration on April 2, 1010.

Since it was first presented in 1962, the Rotary Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award has gone to an impressive array of individual Houstonians and Houston institutions.
The Rotary Club of Houston, in operation since 1912, is an association of more than 200 successful business professionals, all prominent in their individual fields of endeavor, who volunteer their efforts through the work of some two dozen club committees. Assistance is provided to such diverse groups as troubled youngsters, former prison inmates, residents on Houston's East side, business oriented high school students, families of cancer patients, deserving college scholarship candidates and, through its nationwide college athletic award, the Rotary Lombardi Award, the nation's cancer research efforts.
The Rotary Distinguished Citizen Award is the Rotary Club of Houston's major fundraiser for its many community service projects.
