Our new non regular lunches event bring us out to the community. For this event we will go beyond the doors of one of the most historic buildings in Houston, and meet with Dr. Siddiqi who is providing a box lunch for participants.

Dr. Siddiqi will welcome us to the historic neo-classical and Art Deco masterwork on the campus of Houston Community College's Central College - on the National Register of historic Places.

Dr. Muddassir Siddiqi is the president of Houston Community College Central. He began at HCC February 1, 2017, after serving in the capacity of interim college president, provost and the vice president of academics and student development at Morton College, a comprehensive community college in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. Prior to Morton College, Dr. Siddiqi served five years at City Colleges of Chicago as the Executive Director of Manufacturing and Skills Programs. Dr. Siddiqi’s tenure in higher education is marked by successful workforce development programs, enrollment growth specifically for the minority student populations, innovative academic and non-academic student support services, and sustainable partnerships with government agencies, K-12, peer institutions, and community-based organizations. 

Dr. Siddiqi has a blended work experience encompassing Fortune 500 companies to the institutions of higher education. Dr. Siddiqi worked in manufacturing sector for almost 12 years. During his tenure, Dr. Siddiqi assumed multiple organizational roles and successfully oversaw the completion of multimillion-dollar projects in multiple countries around the globe.

Dr. Siddiqi received his Ed.D. in Adult Education and Higher Education from Northern Illinois University; a Master of Business Administration from Northern Alabama University; and a Master in Industrial Technology from Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a graduate of Institute for Educational Management (IEM) at Harvard University, Executive Leadership Program at Cornell, and Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) at the League for Innovation in the Community College.

In addition to his expansive career experience, Siddiqi is a member of many professional associations, including: American Council on Education, Association for Institutional Research, League of Innovation in the Community College, Project Management Institute, American Society for Quality, National Association of Student Affairs in Higher Education, and recently served as the college representative for the Fulbright Scholar Program. Dr. Siddiqi is serving on the board of directors at Career and Recovery Resources, Association of Talent Development (ATD) Houston Chapter, Bridging the Digital Divide, and South Main Alliance. He is also a committee member of The Hermann Park Rotary Club, Every Student Mentoring Program, Commission on Global Learning, and Third Ward Community Cloth Cooperative. 

Dr. Siddiqi identifies himself as an educator. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Siddiqi has taught a variety of courses at graduate and undergraduate level at premium universities and presented at several national and international conferences.
